James meet Don. Don is one of the smartest people I’ve worked with. He’s seen the industry from a variety of positions and I think he might have some interesting insights on post production in indie films.
Thanks don!
All my best

Healthy thanks for pulling "Fred" together on post. Not easy, as the whole process has been to do all of this on a dime, but super pleased with the result. Great people and efforts, yours most of all along the way.

8/14/09 Dear Don,
This picture could not have been made without you. You were and remain, quite literally , a Godsend. This will be the first of more to come. Thank you again for your consummate professionalism and the wonderful generosity of spirit, that made this movie possible. All the very best,
Dan Gordon
Writer/Director "Expecting Mary" 7/24/2009 Dear Don, I just wanted to say how wonderful a job you did finding this great crew. There's such comraderie topped with incredible talent sprinkled with a sense of family. I am blessed to have you on this project and thank you for all the hard work you are doing. Have a great evening and I'll see you in the morning.

Producer "Expecting Mary" TO: Whom it may concern FR: Darin Ferriola DATE: April 24, 2009 RE: Don Dunn Reference I have written and directed three movies and Don has produced all of them. He will continue to produce any movies I make.
Not only does Don provide the most detailed, pragmatic budgets but his dedication and passion to the project is unmatched...which heavily contributes to meeting the parameters of the budget. Don never says "no way" without thinking through a challenge because his goal is making sure the filmmaker's vision is realized.
Don is unlike most producers in that he understands so many aspects of filmmaking including writing, directing, assistant directing, budgets, unions, crew, etc. As a "one stop shop," Don is ideal for the filmmaker, like myself, who loves to work with people that know everything about their craft to limit any delays, overruns, or surprises.
After working with Don, I'm confident that any filmmaker will never again have to look for another producer...I know I don't. Regards, Darin Ferriola

Don mentioned that you interviewed him for a movie job. I just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know that I wouldn't make a movie without him, and it hurts me to recommend him because it means he might not be available when we need him! He's a real asset to any production, has tons of experience, crews love him and he'll save the show a ton of money and better yet, he'll save the show a lot of heartache, since he's a great trouble shooter and will solve most problems before they occur.
Best,
Dave Payne

show details 7/2/08 Reply So, I watched, with great anticipation, for the first time, the footage of the waking of David Anders. Hilarious! And you should be a movie star. Everyone thinks so. In any case, as I move along, putting each reel to bed, I have a growing sense of optimism that we actually will have a movie worth watching at the end of it all. (Not in small part because of your contributions--so thanks.) Here's a link, to whet your appetite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDpVhd_MbJM Hope you are enjoying your summer.

From:Ritchfilmz@gmail.com To: Producer Re: Don Dunn 4/28/09 Dear Producer, I am writing to you in reference to Don Dunn, I have been producing films for 15 years and actually worked for a young Don on my first film before I began producing. A few years later when I put my first film together, I knew there was no one else I would hire to line produce my film than Don. Over the years, Don has produced nearly every one of my films and he’ll do my next one if he’s available. What sets Don apart is he does not say no, he gives you options and alternatives to anything you or your director want to do; he is like a master general who goes into battle completely outnumbered (under-budget) and wins time and time again against overwhelming odds. Don is also a great diplomat, the crew loves him even when he has to push them, he is a godsend to upper management and over the years, he has developed a strong understanding of the quirkiness of actors and is able to manage them nicely without ruffling their feathers. Don really is the best line producer you can get for the money in the independent world and no one knows that world better than he does. My only regret writing this letter is that I may have a film this summer and he will not be available if he is working for you. Seriously though I can guarantee that you will be very pleased and less stressed having Don working for you. Sincerely,
Jeff Ritchie
5/01/2009 To Whom It May Concern: I’ve worked with Don Dunn several times on projects of varying length, complexity and budget, and always look forward to the next. He’s as talented, skilled, knowledgeable and resourceful as anyone in the game, and he gets things done without drama or fuss. His range of experience qualifies him for just about anything; if it’s small, he’ll help to make it look big, and if it’s big, he’ll help to make the spend small. Any production would be lucky to have this great resource on their team. And he’s a damned good guy on top of all of that.
